I thought I would take a break from all the wedding post and share a girls trip I took the first weekend of March (Thursday - Sunday). I joined one of my closest friend on a four day girls trip to Breckenridge, Colorado. This was my first time in Breckenridge; however, my third time in Colorado. I have to say that we had a ton of fun and I want to go back!
The first day we arrived pretty early and we were just trying to adjust to the altitude so that entitled us eating and drinking all day. We stayed at The Village, which was in the middle of town and at the base of the Ten Mile Range at one of the main ski lifts. So it was very convenient since the next two days were devoted to skiing the majority of the day. I will admit I was very nervous since I had only skied once and that was over ten years ago, but I did well and didn't fall down once so I count that as a total success story, ha. We only skied green slopes, but this is one of the best mountains to learn on if you are a beginner to intermediate skier in my opinion and very family friendly. There were additional lifts that can take you higher up the mountain, but I don't think any of us felt that we were at the level to try...well at least not on this trip, maybe sometime in the near future.
The town itself was absolutely adorable. There were coffee shops and pubs that were so inviting and had a ton of character. If you aren't the athletic type or skiing is not for you, the town itself has so much to offer. I definitely would like to make Colorado a yearly trip and try to become a more advanced skier and then spend the remaining time resting around a fireplace drinking a hot beverage and viewing the mountains. Now doesn't that sound just like a nice yearly tradition to start...:)
