Our Wedding Day - The Reception: The Dancing & Socializing

Alright y'all here is the final post about our amazing wedding day. Like I mentioned before the two most important things to have on our wedding day was good food and good music, which we achieved.

We ended up booking for our wedding the 80's band The Spazmatics. I knew as soon as they came on that they were the perfect choice. Between their sets we did have a dj to mix up the genre of music so there was a little bit of something for everyone.

If people weren't dancing they were socializing on the huge wrap around balcony with spectacular view of downtown or taking pictures in the photobooth.  I of course danced majority of the time and when I needed a break from dancing jumped in the photobooth for some quick fun pictures. One of my favorites was when I ended up photobombing my grandparents in the photobooth, their faces were priceless.

In all we had and threw the party of our lives! We were so incredible lucky to have those moments and more important those moments with such great people. It has been such a joy posting these photos and looking back at how wonderful everything was.

House Life According To My Iphone...

Well it has been a rainy few weeks here in Houston. Which has made some of our past weekend plans not ideal, like attending a friends crawfish boil and seeing a few concerts (one of them being outdoors). But the rain didn't stop us from enjoying all of our plans. I helped host my sister-n-laws baby shower and have done a lot of flower shopping lately. So in all I have stayed a busy bee all while able to keep my sanity and composer.

Here is how house life has been lately... Oh and you'll see a few new pieces I have picked up from Target, Marshall's, and Anthropologie (hints: lamps, rugs, pillows, and baskets).

Our Wedding - The Reception: Our First Dance & Mother/Father Dances

It was no surprise that I was all giggles and smiles when Amos and I did our first dance together on our wedding day. Amos and I danced to Band of Horses "No One's Gonna Love You," you can see the music video/song here. We loved this song! Amos put this song on one of my first mix cd's he made for me and we then saw them in concert shortly after that. It is a really specially song to us.

I dance with my father to "Beautiful Boy (song altered to Girl for me)" by John Lennon. My dad is a huge Beatles fan and even more so of John Lennon so this song was perfect for us.

Amos and his mother dance to "No Basta" by Franco de Vita . This was a song that they listened to together when Amos was younger and it was pretty special watching them dance together.

Our Wedding - The Reception: Cake & Toast

This post I am dedicating just to the wedding cakes and toasts from our wedding because the pictures are just so pretty. The cakes were done by Supreme Kakes here in Houston. I discovered them through the huge bridal convention held every year in downtown. They were great to work with and really were able to take our visions and designs from concept to the finished products.

For the main wedding cake design we kept the magnolia theme with the added magnolia flower and the details were inspired from my wedding dress. For the grooms cake Amos wanted to do a tribute to all of the old logos of  the Houston sports teams, The Oilers, The Astros, The Rockets, and top it off with a football helmet from the University of Houston where he did his undergraduate. The cake stands I made from materials I bought from Hobby Lobby, which they came out perfect and matched all the colors and details.

The beautiful toast will go down as some of the best! There were tears shed and tons of laughs and smiles. My maid of honor and Amos's best men we have known for over half of our lives and they really stepped up to the plate and gave amazing toasts. We felt so loved and privileged to have received such blessings and speeches on our special day.
