House Life According to My Iphone...

Hello y'all! I hope everyone is having a lovely week and staying dry if you live in the Houston area. The small window of good weather I had last Friday allowed me to clean up some flower beds and pot some plants. Other than that Amos and I had a pretty chilled weekend and hung out with friends and family.

Next week is our 1-year anniversary and we might plan a quick weekend trip to Austin, but we are still throwing ideas around. This weekend; however, is the annual Bayou City Art Festival at Memorial Park. Amos and I love going to this every year and love to scout out any new art for our home. We might even make it a tradition to buy a piece of art every year and this purchase act as our yearly anniversary present to each other. How cool would it be to have a house filled with great pieces that we got together!

Here is what life has looked like at our home according to my iphone. :)

Our Wedding - The Reception: The Decor & Food

Our reception was held at the Crystal Ballroom at the Rice Lofts in downtown Houston. I wrote an older post, here, on how we selected this venue and how I knew it was the one right away.

Yosemite Backpacking Trip - A Look Back To June 2007

When I first started my current job right after college in May 2007, I knew one thing was for certain, I was finally going to have funds to travel. The first year of working I took two trips, one to the UK (in November 2007) and a backing trip to Yosemite (in June 2007). Both of these trips I went by myself, but met up with a group at my final destination.

My travel goals were to do one big international trip a year and one backpacking trip a year around the states. I travel a lot for work and I have done a few international trips not related to work, but I have not done a backpacking trip since the one in Yosemite. I really would love to do a few more, one that has been on my bucket-list is a backpacking trip to Machu Picchu. I also hear backpacking in New Zealand is amazing.

D.I.Y. Cute Lettered Plates

Hey y'all I hope everyone had a great Easter weekend. While I had a little time to browse on Pinterest over the weekend I stumbled across this really cute D.I.Y. lettered plates pin, y'all can see the full instructions and beautiful pictures from the originally D.I.Y. here). This D.I.Y. was just too easy and cheap not to try and I am so happy with the results. These plates would be adorable for a brunch or a bridal/baby shower. I did twelve salad/dessert plates in all, that is what came in the package from Amazon (a direct link is on the website the pin directed me too and linked above).  I am still working on my "styling" for the photos I take and it is way harder then it looks. Well I hope y'all find this project fun and easy like I did and check out the original pin/website for all the details!
