Since I have shared numerous posts about our wedding I thought I would share some posts of our honeymoon. We decided to book a 13 day Mediterranean cruise through Norwegian Cruise Line. We added a few extra days to our arrival (Venice) and final (Barcelona) destinations so our total honeymoon was almost three weeks long; which is the longest Amos and I have every been on location.
Amos and I had both previously been on a cruise before, but had never been on a Norwegian cruise. The main factor that persuaded our decision to book through Norwegian was the itinerary. Amos had been to Italy before, but I had not, and I had been wanting to go especially after I got back from my Greece trip in 2008. So as somewhat of a compromise we booked a trip that included places neither one of us had been, but had been wanting to go to. Neither one of us had been to Venice, France, or Spain, and the places we both had been before, but separately, we were able to leisurely enjoy together, like Athens, Greece.
Below you can see what our itinerary looked like:
Our arrival destination was Venice, Italy. Amos and I stayed at the Hotel Rialto, which looks out on the Rialto bridge. It was a very central location with easy walking distances to restaurants, shops, and plazas. We did all the must-do touristy things, like take a gondola ride, rode a water taxi, and drank a ton of spritzers. Needless to day it was a great start to our honeymoon. Here are a few of the pictures in our stay in Venice, Italy.
