Prince Project Updates - Front Guest Bedroom

The last post I wrote talked about the progress we have been making on our house projects. I talked about the hallway and shared a few sneak peaks, now lets get to the front guest bedroom

The front guest bedroom just had the finishing paint touch ups done on the trim and ceiling. I am going for the all white look to go with the velvet green headboard and black lacquer side tables. I have gotten a lot of great gold and black accents from Target, where I am still amazed at how much they continue to impress me with their Threshold and Nate Berkus collections. If y'all haven't seen the latest collection please go to your nearest Target now. I just picked up a few of these stools (here) for the house; way too cute!

Here is a glimpse of some inspiration photos I had for the guest bedroom.

Prince Project Updates - Hallway

This past weekend got us a step closer to finishing up the hallway and front guest bedroom. If you follow me on Instagram, you might have seen a few glimpses of the hallway painted up with trim and frames.

Guestroom/Study Updates - A Work In Progress

As Amos and I finish up painting our main hallway and the front guest bedroom I thought I would share what our other guestroom/office looks like at the moment. I quickly threw this room together so we would have something decent looking for the engagement party. This room is where we typically store furniture or extra stuff when we are trying to figure out a place to put it (that is when our garage or utility room is full). We also aren't planning on doing anything drastic to this room yet with the hopes of this being the nursery one day (a few more years until that happens though). So enough chit chat and on with the pictures, like I said this room was put together quickly and I would love to do more to it down the road, like remove the ugly orange lights on the ceiling fan, Yikes!

Guest Bedroom Updates - "The Magnolia Room"

I didn't have the best pictures of the guest room in the house tour, it has been updated recently, however I thought I would share a whole post of what one of our guest room looks like right now. I call it the "Magnolia Room" because there are magnolia decorating accents and the room is in the front part of the house where one of the windows look out onto a magnolia tree in our front yard and magnolia's just happens to be one of Amos's and my favorite trees.

Fall Decorations at the Prince House

I was a little late putting up the Fall/Halloween decorations this year due to us having our engagement party at the end of September. I did not want to have the decorations clash with anything for the party so I waited...which was hard for me. I love fall decorations because they can be put up as early as September and last all the way to the end of November so you have a full three months of decorations.

Our Engagement/Housewarming Party - Round Up!

I talked about setting up for the party, here and here, and I talked about the amazing food, here, now I thought I would just finish up these series of post with some of the final pictures of what it all looked like.

Once again Amos and I are so blessed with the family and friends we have in our lives and loved every moment we had at the party. When you are surrounded by so much love and friendships it makes all of the hard work and preparation worth it and it gets you wishing you had get together's like this more often. Now I can't wait for the bigger party...the wedding!

Our Engagement/Housewarming Party - The Good Eats!

Before I get into all the details of the amazing food we had for the party none of it could have been possible without the labor and love from Amos's cousin Danny who catered the event and also owns a restaurant in Rosenberg,Texas called "The Ol' Railroad Cafe." His wife, Beth, and team went above and beyond and we couldn't have been more pleased with how everything tasted and looked, the food was a huge hit!

When Amos and I were first thinking of ideas about food for the event the first thought went to what is one of the more affordable food to feed close to 100 people. Foods like BBQ, fajitas, burgers, etc. were thrown out there, but after talking with Danny he recommended getting a pig for the main dish. I loved this idea because it's not something you see a lot and since we also have other engaged family members we knew we wanted to spice things up and keep a variety so our family and friends wouldn't get tired of the same food groups. In the event there wasn't a lot of pork eaters Danny also recommended getting some beef that could be sliced and served, both pieces of meat ended up being pretty reasonable for the size and quality. For the sides Danny whipped up Hawaiian rice, grilled vegetables, and amazing sauces to go on everything. Yum!

Our Engagement/Housewarming Party - Setting Up - Part 2 - Chalkboards

Hey y'all! I'm going to continue the engagement party series of posts and talk about all of the chalkboard writing I did for the party. I painted this huge chalkboard in our dining area (see post here) and I wanted something really cute for the party, see examples here, but I just didn't have the time to do anything fancy and just stuck with a simple "Amos and Ashley Engagement Party."  Plus I would like to invest, down the road, in some type of projector to help assist in design and fonts when I draw/write on the chalkboard, especially since it is so large and a big focal point in the room.

I plan on taking a calligraphy class in November so hopefully that will help with future chalkboard writing
